FDTN RIT Entry Bag
This Entry Bag was designed and developed by the Fire Department Training Network to carry all the necessary items needed for providing a backup air supply for an injured firefighter. This well-organized bag has a primary section that stores the air cylinder, Universal Air Connection Wand and Regulator, and a second section for the SCBA face mask. The Entry bag also has a drag strap and a large aluminum carabiner incorporated on the outside of the primary end. The strap is used to secure the RIT bag to the converted waist strap of the downed firefighter. It comes standard with a breakaway shoulder carry strap. The primary line comes in two different bag styles, our Chicago-style bag and our Standard bag, both made of Cordura material. Primary lines can be equipped with the knot and ring marker system. The bottom of the bag is covered with poly-coated nylon to resist abrasion, cuts and tears. All seams are triple sewn with a Tex 138 Nylon thread and come standard with a breakaway adjustable shoulder strap and reflective trim. The large pocket on the back has 2 smaller pockets to hold hand tools or webbing for a jiffy harness. Our primary rope is 9.5mm Kevlar over poly, it has an 860°F heat rating and 5,500 lb tensile strength. It is available with markers and rings. This allows the firefighter to stay oriented to distance and direction. Personal search lines are also available. They can be made of 6mm Kevlar over poly rope or 7/16″ 100% Kevlar tubular webbing.
